Wimbledon was fascinating this year – and while we all might have our favourite players, we at The Elite Nanny Company had a different reason to pay close attention to the men’s final – the childcare arrangements!

Everybody knows that Novak Djokovic claimed his third Wimbledon title by beating Roger Federer. But the reasons he gave for his win really focused our minds. Here’s what he said in his own words. “Becoming parents in October was another great dimension of love and energy for us. Got us even closer together. Whether I’m winning or losing, [Jelena’s] always there. Family’s always there. When I go back home, I’m not a tennis player any more. I’m a father and a husband. That’s a kind of balance that I think allows me to play this well.”

On the other hand, the man he beat. Roger Federer. Made quite different arrangements for his family in the run up to the Wimbledon tournament. He chose to rent two separate houses! He moved into one with his coaching team. Whilst his wife Mirka and both sets of twins, fourteen month old boys and five year old girls, lived in the other one.

What struck us was that Djokovic builds his family into the process whilst Federer seems more as if he built his out of it. And we know that many of the families for whom we provide nannies have similarly difficult decisions to make. They might not be in the Wimbledon final, but they have to find a work/life balance around.

  • long working hours.
  • difficult commutes.
  • demanding clients.
  • working away from home.
  • shift work.
It’s a punishing list of circumstances and we know that our nannies help bring family life back to the forefront for parents. Whilst keeping domestic pleasures natural and comfortable for children and babies. Elite Nannies ensure continuity. Keep appointments, organise fun and support parents in being available and relaxed when with their children. No matter how pressured their working day, nor how strenuous their careers.

Many parents work from home and that requires a completely different approach. An experienced nanny helps a home-working parent focus and concentrate. By giving them space and scope to work, whilst keeping the domestic routine running smoothly around them. So that they can dip into family life if they wish. Without disrupting routines and without feeling that they are ‘abandoning’ their children when they need to go back to work mode.

Our role is to understand each family’s requirements so that we supply just the right nanny to help them work, relax and enjoy life. We might not all be able to lift the Wimbledon trophy. But we can all be champions at the game of balancing work and life. Even if we need a little help from our nanny!
